Paul Mulvaney is the Chief Investment Officer and a member of the MCM Board of Directors. He has been managing money in the Mulvaney Capital Global Diversified Program since May 1999 and has primary responsibility for all investment decisions.

From October 1986 Paul Mulvaney held posts in derivatives and foreign exchange trading at Midland Montagu, Bankers Trust Company and NatWest Markets, before joining Merrill Lynch in September 1993.

At Merrill Lynch he managed several of the firm's major options portfolios, including Global Foreign Exchange Options and Exotic Commodity Options and held concurrent proprietary trading responsibilities within each product group. Separately, Mr Mulvaney also served as co-head of the fixed income derivatives research unit where he focused on embedded optionality. His proprietary trading activity prompted the research and development of a fully automated statistical system for macro futures trading.

After leaving Merrill Lynch he founded Mulvaney Capital Management in March 1999.

Paul Mulvaney graduated from Manchester University in 1985 with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science & Mathematics. He completed the one year Management Science programme at Imperial College, London in 1986, earning a MSc with Distinction. The focus of his Master's thesis was computerised arbitrage models for interest rate and foreign exchange trading.
